My poor baby "Brandy"

Poor Brandy, had to go to the doctors today. She's not been feeling well since Sunday evening.
We were sitting in the living room watching TV, when I looked over at Brandy and her face and eyes were all swelled up. I stayed up til 1am watching her, because I was scared of the swelling. The next morning she looked a bit better, the swelling in her eyes was about gone and she was acting her normal self. Bopping around the house, playing with little Snoopy.
Then by yesterday evening she started acting funny and the swelling went to her neck, under her chin. Then she had red blotches on her skin and ears. For the life of me, the only thing I could think was a spider had bitten her... well took her to the doggy doctors and he said he didn't know what was going on, but her neck and back are swollen and he said her skin is thicker than it should be. He gave her some shots and a bunch of pills and said to watch her for the next few days.

Has anyone else ever had this happen to their pet??? I have had dogs all my life and never seen anything like this. All you dog lovers, please say a prayer for Brandy, I lost my chocolate lab 4 years ago (old age) and it's just to hard for me to think of losing another.

Will keep you posted about her. Poor Snoopy wants his play buddy back.

Prim Blessings,
Jean

  5. Thank you Ladies for your thoughts and prayers. I did ask the vet about benadryl, but he said he wanted to try steriords and gave her a shot and some pills. I hate giving things like that to her, but at this point I was desperate. She is still lathargic and sleeping. Hope Wednesday she will be better.

  7. Just found your blog thru Dan's...congrats on your win!

Poor Brandy. I am also enjoying the company of a 2 year old Chocolate Lab.
Sophie is my 3rd one. Lost 2 others many years ago to old age, too. It sounds like Brandy just got a bite or something. I am sure her vet will fix her up after determining what's what! Have a nice day...
