Lots to show and share with ya, come see what I've been up to:

Hi Everyone,

It's Friday, yeah.... hope to run across some new yard sales this weekend. I went out last Saturday and found some really cool finds and want to share with you.

The first yard sale I came across had some awsome stuff and I was the first there and got the deals. It was a mother and daughter who were cleaning out there houses. I purchased these two tan and brown pitchers and 2 tan and brown crocks in excellent condition they only priced them at $2.00 each!!! The top two pics are the same pitcher and crock, I just wanted to show the spout on the pitcher.

The prim painted wood plate was $1.50. I also got a couple of table runners (no pics) $1.00 each and a small basket that had a dozen prim painted jingle bells all for $2.00. Pretty good deal don't cha think.

I stopped at a few other yard sales, but didn't see anything I could use. So I went to the thrift shop and found a few goodies to make over. I wish I had taken before pics, but I didn't. Oh well, anyway the candle holder was a brown stained wood I just sanded the finish off and painted flat black, then sanded lightly, then put a stain over it to age. Looks nice. The two bowls where wood stained, which I sanded and painted white, then sanded again to age and covered with stain. The wall box was neat looking but needed some work. It was coming apart so I glued it up, painted it white and aged it with stain. I paid $3.00 for all of them.

With the weather finally nicer outside, I have been wanting to try my hand at making some primitive tables. I found two tutorials on Lee Hill Primitives blog site to try out and here are pics of them. I was very please with how easy and how great they look. The first two pics are the bucket bench. I painted the base coat black, then a colonial blue and sanded it down. Then rubbed a coat of stain over all to prim it up. The second two pics are the dry sink style table. I painted it with a base of black paint and topped it with barn red and sanded and stained. Stop by Lee Hill Primitives site, there's some really nice things over there.(Oh, and the wood sheep in the back ground has been patiently waiting to be completed.lol. It a lawn/garden ornament, I sold quite a few last year.)

I love to work with wood and create something out of nothing. I subscribe to Create & Decorate magazine and they have some neat primitive signs in the issues so I started making them. They turned out nicely, don't you think.

I also made this shelf out of an old door panel I rescued from a burn pile awhile back. I knew it would come in handy for something. lol.

And I have seen a lot of old candle boxes in everyones blogs, so I thought I'd try to make one. This turned out very nice.

I started making ornamental birdhouses a few years ago and selling them out front of my house and they do pretty well in selling. Here's a simple little one to put in a flower garden or front porch. I like to use old rusty tin on the roof top. Pretty prim looking after it sets in the yard awhile.

Told ya I had a lot of things to share, and here are some new cloth craft thing I made this week...

Bowl fillers: my favorite is the pig!!! how cute is he. He is of my own pattern as well as the hens, pears and butterflys. The crows and melons are from a Threadbare Primitive design.

And last but not least, roosting prim hens. They are my own pattern and really turned out quite nice.Just the right size to sit on any shelf, counter top or cabinet.

Thank you for stopping by to see what I've been up to. If you would like to know anything about the above items, please feel free to leave a comment or email me at prim.crafts@hotmail.com.

Re-charging my batteries......

It's been over a week since I've posted, cause I've been busy crafting, woodworking and junk shoppin. I have lots to share but my camera batteries are dead :( so once there re-charged its gonna be a picture frenzy!!!!

Today I was wondering around the blog world and came across a few new blog sites that are just great. Tammy at Twin Creek Primitives has a wonderful blog full of "Prim" graphics and backgrounds offering them for free. She is very talented and very generous to offer such great things. Go on over and check her blog out.

Another great blog is The Crafty Crow. Ronda is having her first blog giveaway. I truly love her blog. Her first graphic on the sidebar says: "Keep It Simple" and each of her posts begins with a daily quote. She also crafts so go on over and check her blog out.

Check back cause by weeks end I'll have lots to share, and I might try my hand at a tutorial.

Have a wonderful week!!

Jean

Jelly Bean Prayer

The Jelly Bean Prayer
Red is for the blood He gave,
Green is for the grass He made,
Yellow is for the sun so bright,
Orange is for the edge of night,
Blue is for the sins we make,
White is for the grace He gave,
Purple is for His hour of sorrow,
Pink is for our new tomorrow!
A bag full of jelly beans,
So colorful and sweet,
Is a prayer, is a promise….
Is a special treat!

Blessings on this Good Friday and Happy Easter to all.
Jean
