Been working

Hi Blog Friends!
It's a beautiful day here in the valley.
Blue skies, light breeze with a temp of 72.
All the colors in the yard are so vibrant right now~
I love Spring!

Well I've been slowly getting my mojo back and finished a couple of prim horses so far.

This one is rather large and stands on a base.

I used brushed swede for their bodies. The saddles are wool.
Their bodies are darker in person.

The little one here has stick legs~ isn't he cute!!
They were made from a pattern by Jackie Schmidt TFC Folkart.

Then I ordered a bunch of wool bundles from Margie at Hungry Hook Primitives so I could make me a few penny mats.

I was at a chain craft store in the mall a few weeks ago and seen a beautiful penny mat I thought would look wonderful on my dining room table, but then when I seen it cost $75 bucks; I thought good grief I can make that!

I have most of the pennies blanket stitched together and still need to stitch them to the osnaburg fabric. I'm loving how they're turning out~

I went to a flea market last Saturday and found 4 very nice ladder back chairs at a steel!
I am going to turn them into make do chairs!
I've seen so many on the net and found some tut's, so wish me luck! Hopefully next week I can start working on them.
So that's what I've been up to this week~
How about you? What have you been up to?

Have a great week!
Blessings,
        Jean

  3. Hi Jean,
glad you got your mojo back, mines been mia for a few days! Having to deal with our cell phone carrier and upgrading from very old phones to the simpler LG800 really shouldn't be that big of a deal, but since last Friday we still don't have active cells!!!!! I lost my patience and pulled out my hair yesterday. Not a big deal for me, but my hubby needs his to be called to work!!!!
Anyway, hoping to get crackin' again in the morning! Your new projects are awesome and can't wait to see the penny mat.
    ttys.

  9. Jean, the horses are adorable. The fabric and trims you used are perfect. Have fun with the penny rug, I know what you mean about the prices. For something reasonably easy to make, I don't know why they cost so much. I can't wait to see yours finished.
    Hugs,
    Susan
