There’s Blue Jays in the front tree making a ruckus and I went to the door to see what all the commotion was and just look at this!
Do you see it?
The biggest darn squirrel I ever seen. He’s I guess trying to get to the Blue Jay nest in the tree. See the Jay’s on the branch? There are two of them trying to attack the squirrel. I went out to try and scare it away and the thing looked at me like he could kill me. I backed up got in the house and shut the door. The second picture is from the window thru the screen. not opening it either.
Never seen anything like it!
Blessings, Jean
Well you sure don't see anything like that very often! Good shot! :)
ReplyDeleteWere the jays trying to get into the squirrel's nest? They can sure be noisy, can't they? I wonder who will win? ~*~Lisa
ReplyDeleteSounds like your day is off to an eventful start - in more ways than one! Beautiful view out your door though! Hoping the bad spell of weather is behind you and all are safe and sound. Smiles & Hugs, Robin
ReplyDeletelol...That is pretty normal..Blue Jays can be meaner then all dickens and if I were to place a bet the Jays will win and the Squirel might find his eyes pecked out...since they know he is coming up the tree.
ReplyDeleteI have a pet Blue Jay. she is around 12 yrs old and can not fly so she is gentle since she has been hand raised and fed since before she had feathers. Cat killed her papernts & siblings and chewed Lucky's wings up pretty badly. How I ever saved her is beyond me.Gods Will I'm sure and she has been a constant companion all these years.
Whe is really funny too she gets mad or wants me to pay attention she will scream at the top of her lungs...just like the ones in your front yard...
Neat taht you got to experience nature in its glory...
Have a great day!

Hi Jean: Yes, those bluejays are very territorial...we have a pair in our backyard....they come swooping down near our heads if we get too close to their nest....Looove your view...looks like you live in paradise! We also live in the country with lots of farmland around us! Finally heard the crickets last night...aaaah spring is here!
ReplyDeletepatti ;)
Gesh it even looks mean when you click on the pic!! I would have went back in the too!!LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteLove your pictures...I watch animals all during the day out my back door. I take so many pictures through the glass. We have 4 squirrels and one has no tail...only about 2 inches is left...don't know how he lost it but at first it looks like a rabbit hopping along. We have lots of pecan trees and the squirrels love them...keeps 'em out of the bird feeders. They bury nuts all morning long..do they actually remember where they are...or do they ever look for them...or is that what squirrels do...I don't know. Blue Jays are mean..we have seen 2 pairs in our yard...they will destroy other bird's nests.
ReplyDeleteHi Jean, I enlarged your pic and yep, I see them all. Blue Jays are pretty aggressive and make alot of racket. I know this, because I'm pretty sure we have them nesting all around our house outside... lol. I like listening to the birds, but those Blue Jays are loud mouths!
