Rumbling and some rambling......

Hi Everybody,

The news this morning reported we had a 3.6 earth quack about 5 a.m. here on the East Coast. I did not feel it but apparently people north of Shenandoah did.

I remember when I was about 7 years old, living in Harford Co. MD we had a pretty big earthquake. I can remember standing in the kitchen with my mom, sister and brother, when all the sudden the house started shaking and things started falling from the walls. It only lasted a second but it left us feeling terrified.

Most of the people the reporters interviewed said they thought it was a big truck going by their house. The West Coast people are probably laughing at us for making such a big deal out of a little earthquake. But we don't experience things like that.

Ok, on to some other things. Hey any facebook followers out there?? I now have the facebook widget on my blog so y'all can follow me too.....

I have been surfing other blogs to catch up on the crafty gossip and boy are you all busy bees getting geared up for fall.  So many wonderful things being created. I am totally jealous.

Well, I have been doing some pumpkins, acorns, apples and scarecrows. I don't have pics of the scarecrows but will post once I get them finished.

These are 5" and 7" tall pumpkins. I really like how the leaves I made turned out.  I used old grapevine for the stems and rusty wire for the vines.

These bowl filler pumpkins are 7" and 4.5" tall. The tall ones have grapevine stems and rusty wire vines. The small ones are all one piece with cloth stems. I then tied green homespun around the stem.

These apple bowl fillers are very cute and nicely prim. They have smaller grapevine stems and a prim leaf. They are about 4.5" tall.

Look at these acorns. Oh so prim. They are about 4.5" tall. I first made the nut and then the cap. The caps are hand sewn onto the nut. Can you guess what I used for the caps???? Hint, you wear them when it is very cold outside. I had some old ones with holes and new what I could do with the material. Give up?? Longjohns!!!!! How great is that!

Oh yeah, I have shut my Etsy site down at least for now. I am a little peeved that both Etsy and Paypal take there fees out of the cost of shipping.  I don't mind paying the fees on the the price of a purchase but they should not charge on the cost to ship. That is why you have to put your prices up. Just not good business sense to me. Anybody else notice this??

If you see something you would like to purchase send me an email. I'd be happy to hear from you.

Hoping everyone has a great afternoon and weekend. Got to get back to crafting.

Until next time, Prim Blessings,
Jean
