Valentine, Parson Brown, New Year's Wish....

Happy almost New Years blog friends!

Just wanted to stop in and share a few Valentines I've been working on and share a little funny with you.
Here's a sweet little mousie with hearts in a sack I've been creating lately.
It's my own design.

These gals are so prim!
 I used a Blue Moon Beginnings pattern for the doll and embellished with a heart pocket full of sweet annie.
You could even use them year round, not just for Valentines.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here's the funny!
I purchased sweet Parson Brown from Lynn over at The Button Box just before Christmas and he arrived Christmas Eve.  I was so in all of her work.  She had used a real carrot that was dehydrated for his nose as well as his little friend in his pocket.
Well, I had the perfect spot for sweet Parson Brown.
I placed him in a wood child's chair where he could enjoy the holiday season with us in the living room.
If you don't know, we have two dogs~ Snoopy whom has been very sick the past few months and Brandy our six yr old black lab.
Well, I woke up Christmas morning and found Parson had fallen out of his chair.  Not thinking anything of it, I picked him up and placed him back in the chair.
Later Christmas day, I was looking at Parson, sitting in his chair and noticed there was something definitely not right.
Yep, you guessed it!! BRANDY had eaten poor  Parson Browns nose and his little friends nose TOO!!!
 Poor Parson Brown had a horrible traumatic Christmas Eve experience in his new forever home.  I kissed and hugged on him and told him I'd try to fix him as best I could.  So I got the clay out and fashioned him and his friend new noses. There no where near as pretty as the original, but I think he's much happier now.
So, BEWARE! If you purchase something and it has dried carrots or anything enticing to a dog, don't put it where they can get it~ I would have never thought Brandy would do that to poor Parson.
No words can express the grief our Nation is feeling this day.
Heavenly Father,
I ask that You be with the Families of Newtown, Ct,
whom have suffered great loss
 and comfort them in these dark hours and days ahead.
In Jesus Sweet and Loving Name, Amen
Praying our Leaders of this Great Nation stand up and take note that GUN CONTROL is NEEDED!!
A little sharing:
Happy Friday Blog Friends!
Only 10 days left til Christmas~ Are you ready yet?
 Time just keeps moving along, doesn't it.
As you can see by the pic below, I finally got a tree up.....
Decided to use the small bull-nose pine this year.
I decorated it with all handmades this year.
The snowman trio at the base are a new purchase I made at one of the fall craft shows.
I think they look very happy displayed in their new home. lol......
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Below are a few pics of some snowies I've been working on.

I love these little girls!
I made a few last year and shipped one all the way to England!!

Their dressed in an old vintage quilt top dress I purchased in W. VA over the summer.
The pics make them look more white than they really are~ as usual my photo skills suck!

This snowy was made using a pattern by Robin of Bird in hand primitives~
Hope you don't mind Robin, but I used her little cupid doll pattern and turned him into a snowy.

Below is the BEST Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookie Recipe I have EVER had!
I was watching The Today Show the other day and they had a lady named Gretchen Holt-Witt on talking about her cookie business she started as a fund raiser called "Cookies for Kids Cancer"- Best bake sale cookbook. Beautiful story if you seen it~ and she shared this recipe on The Today Shows website.
You can click on the pic below and it should enlarge to read.
I'm telling you these are the best!!!
If you get a chance, give them a try and let me know what you think.

Well, I think I'm done ready for Christmas.
Didn't go all out this year, but I like the simpleness.
I've enjoyed seeing all the pics of fellow blog friends Christmas Decor ~
It seems simplicity is the theme for most. smiling.....

Off to start on Valentine crafts~ I've got some prim dolls waiting for their finishing touches~
I'll share em with you soon.

Have a great weekend and thank you for stopping by!
Holiday Blessings to you,
Jean

Nope, didn't do any decorating, but played with snowies and gingers all day....Lol.

These first two are my own design.
Snow Angel~ see her little cane tree and halo.

        I call this one Christmas Wonder~ love his expression!
It's hard to see, but he has ear muffs on.

These are patterns by Sweet Meadows Farm.

(My photo's really suck~ but you get the idea.)

Gotta make my rounds ~ these will all be going to the selling booths today.

Three weeks til Christmas!

Hi Blog Friends!
Hope everyone had a great weekend.
Looks like many of you are well on your way to decorating for the holidays.
I have the lights up outside, but nothing done inside....
This is the first year I can remember being sick for so long. Like many of you, I've battled a upper respiratory infection for three weeks prior to Thanksgiving, then got the flu the Sunday after Thanksgiving.
I'm still not feeling all that great, but pushing myself to get things done.
If you have not had the flu yet, I'd seriously consider getting the flu shot~ I would not wish it on my worst enemy!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When Jackie~ of TFC Folk Art came out with her new pattern for a Nativity ~ I just had to purchase it!
I purchased some of the little washtubs a few years ago on clearance and could never figure out what I'd do with them~ until now! Perfect for baby Jesus to lay His head down.
Stitched this pin keep for a neighbors gift. I don't think she sees my blog. Pattern by Country Rustic Primitives.
These look much nicer in person. Primitive bells with wool holly and berries.
Pattern is free over at Tennessee Ridge Primitives!
And I made this beauty for me. Americana Santa~ using a pattern by Sweetpea Primitives.
(I added the reindeer~ it's not included in the original pattern).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I recently did a swap with Sara of Salmon Falls Primitives.
Look at the goodies she sent me!

Beautiful round riser~ love the blue!

A Primitive Blessings sign board~ yippy!!! I've wanted one of these.

Love, love, love this wall/door box!
I couldn't wait to hang it on my front farmhouse door.
Sara does beautiful work~
She has an Etsy shop~ Salmon Falls Primitives , if you've never visited her shop, stop over and take a peek.
(click on shop name to go there)
Thank you Sara for all the great goodies, I love doing swaps with you!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have gingers to finish today, then maybe I'll muster the energy to dig out the tree and some decoration, or maybe not........lol.
Thank you for stopping for a visit.
Enjoy your day!
Holiday Blessings to you,
         Jean
Good Thursday blog friends!
It's a cloudy, cold day here in Virginia.
A good day to stay in and sew up some snowmen!
Finished up these cuties yesterday ~
pattern by The Olde Country Cupboard.
Also made my rounds yesterday to stock the selling booths.
It tickles me to know how many customers love the things I make.
The new booth at Country Road Antiques and Flea Market is doing very well.
Yvonne, one of the owners, gets so excited to see me come in with new things.
She's like a kid in a candy shop........smile.....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I just have to share this beautiful prim S. Claus doll with you.
I purchased him from The Button Box on Early work Mercantile.
Lynn does wonderful work. Lots of attention to details ~ I'm addicted!

Thanks for stopping by~
Have a great prim weekend!

Been way to long~

Since I've posted.

Hi Blog friends!

First, I want to send my thoughts and prayers out to all the people on the North East Coast that were affected by hurricane Sandy.
I've visited some of the places shown on the news in years past and my heart breaks.
May God's strength be with you in these times of tribulation.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The main reason I haven't posted much is I get so frustrated with blogger.
It takes so long for me to upload pics to the posts since blogger changed it's format.
Things will be settling down for the winter months for me, so now I can set and give blogger a little more of my time. (This post took me 1 1/2 hours to do~ ridiculous!)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm still crafting up a storm! Lol.
Here's some pics of what I've been making lately.

Then I have all these waiting to be finished.

"A crafters work is never done. "
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here's a couple of my favorite finds from over the summer.
Beautiful old wheel barrel~ found at a yard sale. I had to do a u-turn when I seen it driving down the road. I plan to fill it with pine greens and white lights for winter.
This wonderful old straw broom.
beautiful small yellow ware bowl~ love the brown band.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I plan to get serious in teaching myself to be a hooker!
purchased the frame and lots of wool strips off ebay.
Now all I need is a day of wintry snow to get started.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And last but not least, my dear friend Lecia, whom we all know, posted awhile back about my sweet little Snoopy dog being very sick.
I'm happy to say he is doing pretty well and I truly appreciate all the prayers sent up for him.
Thank you Lecia for such love and care you show me and others.
Your a true blessing.
Wishing all of you a beautiful weekend!
Thank you for stopping by~ I hope to post again soon.
Prim Blessings & hugs,
Jean
