Christmas is in the air….

Hi Blog Friends,

Sorry it’s been awhile. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and didn't over stuff yourselvesSmile.  I’ve been busy trying to pull out some of my Christmas decorations and cleaning house so I could decorate. What a job it is, but when its done it always gets me in the Christmas spirit.

My sister and niece came down from PA an spent a few days with us.  My niece – Meagan is 8 and is really getting into the crafting world. She draws pictures for me and they are really very good.

My wall of fame!

Here’s the card she made me for Thanksgiving.  When you open the card the turkeys beak opens and closes!!

stuff 010stuff 011

Here’s a turkey puppet she made all by herself. All hand stitched and glued. It’s just adorable.

Here Meagan is helping me bake sugar cookies.  She had fun decorating them with colored sugar and sprinkles.  After they were baked I told her to try one, but she said she didn’t like cookies!! This kid only eats healthy things. I don’t know any 8 yr olds that only eat healthy.

We had fun making a few crafts and visiting, but I’ll tell you I was glad to get a break when they left. Shoooo…..

Saturday, I decorated the front of the house. I just kept it simple this year.  I purchased this tall 5’ Santa a few years ago and put him in front of the front door with some boxes I wrapped and stacked. We never use the front door so it’s a great place for Mr. HoHo to stand. It’s on a covered porch so he will be fine.

stuff 006

Here’s a picture of the wreaths I made for the doors this year. The wreath is from Wal-Mart I purchased at the end of last year on clearance, then I put a pick of berries and snowflakes on it and used an old slat from an old shutter to put the Seasons Greetings sign on it. Very simple to do and I really like how it turned out.

stuff 008

I spent Monday getting my Christmas decoration for the inside of the house together and am going to finish up decorating today so I’ll have more pictures to share later this week.

Last Friday I received my winnings from Cindy at A Touch of Sunshine!!

 stuff 001

This perfectly prim hand stitched Snowman. My picture doesn’t do him justice, but he melted my heart when I opened the box and seen him.

Thank you so much Cindy for this great gift. I will cherish him always.

If you’ve never been to Cindy’s blogs, yes she has two and they are both great places to visit.  Cindy’s A Touch of Sunshine blog is her everyday blog (which has some freebies) and her selling blog Cindy Primitive Heart has some really nice items for sale. Click on the links to visit her.  If you go to Cindy Primitive Heart blog, check out her prairie dolls under her header Primitive Folk art dolls. They are oh so prim.

Well I gotta get busy finishing my decorating and then get back to crafting. My selling booths are almost empty!!! WooHoo things are selling!!

Have a GREAT week everyone,

Prim Blessings,

Jean

A Quick Post

Hi Blog Friends,

Just a quick post to show a few things I’ve been working on. I haven't been able to focus much on crafts this week. I received some very heart breaking news about a dear friends son and it has really hit me hard. I’ll share his story when I can sit and focus.

winter crafts 002

This prim Santa make-do is so prim and easy to do, it is a free pattern from Countin Crows over at The Chocolate Crow Trader. I added the bag of pips and branches instead of the naughty or nice cards.

Here’s a very cute pair of Elf Shoes filled with greens and berries with a grungy tea lite. It is a pattern by Old Road Primitives which is free over at the Rusty Tin Roof.

And lastly, here is my design of Christmas Mouse. Aren't they cute. I did them as witch mouse at Halloween and sold every one of them.

Have a very Blessed weekend,

More sharing's and a big Thank You

winter crafts 002

I received this beautiful prim candle light from Donna at Sweet Prairie Dwellings yesterday in the mail.  Donna so generously sent it to me for promoting her 300 follower giveaway on my blog!!     I LOVE IT!!!!

Thank you Donna.

Here’s some more things I’ve been working on.

These little cuties are from a pattern by  Crows Roost Prims. Oh so prim Gingerbreads!!

winter crafts 005

I also have the Snowman pattern and have a bog full of them waiting patiently for me to finish them. LOL.

winter crafts 006

I made quite a few of these icicle ornies, you can’t tell to well by the pic but they are very prim and I painted on some glue glitter that makes them shimmer when the light hits them. They are a pattern by Sue Allemand from Palette Primitives.

winter crafts 007

“Here’s a handy tip for you.”  I use heavy 20 lb. fishing line for all my ornie hangers.  It’s easy to thread thru a needle and it kinda disappears when you hang the ornie on the tree.

winter crafts 008

Prim Candy Canes!! I used a pattern by Simple Country Blessings, only I hand painted the stripes on instead of using fabric. I love the prim look of them.

winter crafts 010

And I made a few of these cute Santa’s Long john Ornies, pattern is by Sandy at The Old Country Cupboard.

I don’t know about you all but time is flying by to me. It’s already the middle of November and I have so many things I want to make and sell in my mall booths but just can’t seem to get it all done!!

Wishing you a beautiful and fruitful week.

Prim Blessings,

Jean

Happy Veterans Day!!

Hi Blog Friends,

winter crafts 001

Look at this harvest moon. The other night I was letting my little Snoopy Dog out and seen this in the horizon. At first I thought the side of the mountain was on fire, because earlier in the day there was an actual fire on the mountain. The air all day had smelled like smoke. Then when I focused more on it, I could see it was the moon. Just beautiful although this photo doesn’t do it justice.

I won an awesome giveaway over at Paxton Valley Folk Art.

Here are some little ornies I made using free patterns from You are special. Sandy is so generous and has great patterns that are so easy to make. I purchased some wool for the Santa beards from Backwoods Wonders. She has some great wool to offer and reasonable priced.

winter crafts 007

How neat are these stick horses! I loved making them and oh so easy to do. They are from a design by KKL Primitives.

winter crafts 010winter crafts 009

This Backwoods Santa is a long skinny guy. He is a design by Kinsey Primitives, which I purchased from Homespun and Primitives.

winter crafts 018winter crafts 019

Last but not least here is the Snowman Hat designed by Tennessee Ridge Primitives. I love making this design and it was a great seller for me last year.

Gotta get back to crafting, so have a wonderful week and enjoy all that the Fall Season offers, cause before you know it, it’ll be winter. Brrrrrr.
